IFP removed in Nongoma municiplaity

They replace now former mayor Albert Mncwango and speaker Bheki Zulu, both from the IFP. 

The position of deputy mayor will continue being held by an EFF councillor.

The sitting took place under heavy police guard following violent disruptions blamed on the IFP prevented council from sitting on Monday as scheduled.

The three parties have majority seats in council with the NFP leading with 13, the ANC eight and the IFP with two.

Governance changes are a result of a breakdown between the EFF and IFP.
