The South African Weather Service issued a yellow level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms over the south-western parts of Limpopo, western and southern Mpumalanga, and the central and eastern parts of the North West.
The Free State, Gauteng and parts of KwaZulu-Natal can also expect thunderstorms.
There will be damaging winds between Alexander Bay and Hermanus.
Additionally, extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the northern parts of the Northern Cape.

The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong south-easterly to southerly.
It will be cloudy to partly cloudy in the east of the Western Cape, with light showers along the south coast.
Otherwise, the province will be fine and cool to warm.
The wind along the coast will be light and variable east of Cape Agulhas, but moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly in the afternoon.

The western half of the Eastern Cape will be partly cloudy and cool, but there will be isolated showers and rain in the extreme east.

KwaZulu-Natal will be cloudy, with widespread showers and thundershowers, but scattered in the extreme north-east.
