The Currie Cup clash between the Cheetahs, and Griffons was called off on Friday following inclement weather, including lightning, in Bloemfontein.
The match was initially delayed by 10 minutes due to the weather.
When the teams did take the field, the floodlights failed a few minutes into the game.
With lightning flashing in the background, the players were taken off the field for their safety but never returned.
According to SuperSport.com, the match will be rescheduled at a later date.
If the Cheetahs had won the game, which in all likelihood they would have had the weather not intervened, they would have gone to the top of the Currie Cup log.
In Friday's earlier game, the Lions beat the Pumas 26-10.
