In his responding papers, Ndzwanana said the applicants had only alleged that  the EFF had threatened to disrupt proceedings but couldn’t sight anything insofar as his own conduct.

“The applicants allege that I had, in flagrant disregard of my duties and obligations, refused to convene council meetings on five separate occasions. The applicants’ founding affidavit attempts to illustrate that I had not taken any steps to convene a council meeting as the applicants, allegedly representing the majority, had requested.

“But this is incorrect. The applicants have failed to set out the entire account of events which had transpired. I will now set out a brief background prior to the launch of this application, which will demonstrate that I had not refused to convene council meetings,” Ndzwanana said.

Ndzwanana asked the court to dismiss the application with costs.

The matter will be heard on Tuesday afternoon.
